Finding spaces that truly reflect who you are, your life experience, your pace, your values, isn’t always easy. Together50Plus was created specifically for queer women aged 50 and over in Ottawa who are looking for connection, visibility, and meaningful social experiences.
This is not a nightlife scene. This is not about fitting into someone else’s idea of community. It’s about belonging. Whether you identify as Two Spirit, queer, lesbian, trans, bi, poly, pan including non-binary lesbians, or are still finding the words that feel right for you, you are welcome here.
Why Together50Plus Exists
Many LGBTQ+ resources in Ottawa serve broad audiences of all ages. While those spaces are important, queer women 50+ often feel invisible, overlooked, or simply out of place. Together50Plus fills that gap by offering a safe, age-affirming space for queer women 50+, social connections without pressure or expectations, events designed for conversation, comfort, and shared interests, and a community that values lived experience and mutual respect.
This is a place where showing up as yourself is enough.
Queer Women 50+ Community in Ottawa
Together50Plus brings together queer women from across Ottawa and surrounding areas who want to meet like-minded women in a relaxed environment, build friendships later in life, reconnect with their queer identity in a supportive space, and participate in events that are not centered around bars or clubs.
Our community reflects the diversity of queer women 50+, different backgrounds, cultures, bodies, abilities, and life stories, all connected by a desire for authentic human connection.

What You Can Expect: small to medium size gatherings, comfortable and accessible venues, inclusive and respectful environments, clear communication and welcoming facilitation.
Types of Events: social meetups, cultural and seasonal events, interest based gatherings, game nights, dance.
